Multivitamins are used to provide vitamins that are not taken in through the diet. Multivitamins are also used to treat vitamin deficiencies (lack of vitamins) caused by illness, pregnancy, poor nutrition, digestive disorders, and many other conditions.
Constipation, diarrhea or upset stomach may occur. These effects are usually temporary and may disappear as your body adjusts to this medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.
- Before taking this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to any of its ingredients; or if you have any other allergies.
- This product may contain inactive ingredients (such as soy found in some brands), which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
- Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: use/abuse of alcohol, liver problems, stomach/intestinal problems (e.g., ulcer, colitis).
- Take this medication regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
- This medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
There appears to be no risk when taking this drug during pregnancy.
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription/herbal drugs you may use, especially: other vitamin/nutritional supplements.
