Partial-hand and digital amputations are a common injury treated by hand therapists. A simple partial-hand cosmetic prosthesis consists of silicone fingers formed from negative molds, with a modified glove worn on top to hold it in place. It seems most beneficial as an early cosmetic covering for patients with multiple partial or full-digit amputations who are candidates for, or show interest, in a permanent cosmetic prosthesis.
